Who We Are

As a state public policy office of the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America (ELCA), the Lutheran Coalition for Public Policy in Minnesota (LCPPM) addresses biblical values such as concern for people living in poverty and struggling with hunger and disease, hospitality to strangers, and care for creation.

Our ministry is mandated, guided, and governed by the ELCA. Lutherans believe advocacy is a public witness to the Gospel of Jesus Christ where the Church speaks with and on behalf of others in need.

The LCPPM is one of 11 state public policy offices of the ELCA and is a partner ministry of the six ELCA Minnesota Synods representing nearly 1,200 congregations throughout the state of Minnesota.

"It is true that we are justified by faith alone without works, but I speak of the true faith which after it justifies does not snore lazily."
